The project

To support companies in reporting emissions of air pollutants together with green house gases, Ricardo, in partnership with Impact on Urban Health and the Clean Air Fund, is developing a new approach to corporate emissions reporting. Working with one of our contractors who had started the website development, I was brought in to help with branding. The brief, to begin with, was to create a logo to accompany the website, work with the web developer to tease out further extension of a visual identity, and then create branding collateral such as banners, flyers, large display graphics and some digital branded graphics to be used for upcoming events ‘Clean air day’ and ‘Reset connect conference’.

About EMAQ

EMAQ is a pre-existing sub-brand within the air quality division of Ricardo. Although it’s fairly well-established, it’s time for a brand refresh and an upgrade of the website. The previous system wasn’t able to cope with the expansion of training leads generated by EMAQ, so the new website needs to be user-friendly and help our consultants manage new inquiries easily. It should also allow them to upload new courses onto the site as EMAQ continues to expand.

The team is willing to take a new, abstract approach to the branding, which will be implemented within the website using artwork images, colours and printed and digital collateral that will be associated with the EMAQ brand. Although the website is based on a Moodle template, backend coding will be required to adapt the website to the functionalities we need and to improve visitor ease of use.
